On unemployment, I don’t see how it won’t jump up significantly in the next 3-5 years. Robotics and IA are making so many jobs obsolete.
That's been the main reason I've been for for ending low-skilled immigration -- and greatly reducing immigration in general (outside of specialized niches and needs).
We've known the mass automaton job losses are coming. It's going to be challenging (understatement) to figure out.
Yet the low-skilled immigrants we've been mass importing for decades (knowing this automation is coming) already use welfare / govenment services at exponentially higher rates than native citizens.
Immigrants are taking out much more than they pay in, and they haven't even earned it. Look at the "Immigration Act of 1965."
This "policy" is beyond stupid, destructive and is actually quite evil to American taxpayers. Especially the middle class.
The American voters never had actual say in this "policy," and both political parties are responsible for maintaining it.
In a way, the GOP is worse because they have continually lied about it, for decades. It's why Trump won.
