FL Gov. Ron DeSantis Signs Civics Bill Requiring Students to Learn Evils of ‘Communism, Totalitarian Ideologies’

The sheriff would take him away
Where would he take him? For how long? In what condition? How would kindly Deputy Fife react when he returned to his pig farm to reclaim what was rightfully his?

I don't know the intricacies of the legal procedures for such property crimes but I am sure they exist.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure the intricacies are that he’ll get the ever loving shit beat out of him, he’ll be cuffed and hauled off to jail. And if he persists he’ll land in a “re-education camp” or a gulag like all the other collectivist societies have provided to their dissidents. It’s really not hard to say this out loud, but it’s understandable why you are so reluctant to shine the light of truth on your society of choice.

Dan we don't have gulags or reeducation camps here in the US, and I don't know of anyone spending too much time in prison for property crimes.

Not yet, anyway. But we’re not full on collectivist yet, either.

Welcome to my world. It took him no less than 3 years to acknowledge that a human fetus is human.

You should ask him what the Constitution says about expropriation. I'm sure Constitutional amendments will be as easy to get done as making up "socialist" bullshit.

We both know that the statist will have some dipshit talking points about do we really need the Constitution in our "advanced liberal democracy socialism what-not." Laugh at him when he posts them. Tell him Marx was a lazy RAYCIST dumbass bitter jealous drunk mental midget runt pig (he was) not worthy of your post poop dirty ass hairs. Let's see what happens...

Just a change in property law. No need for gulags
That’s where you are mistaken. A collectivist society, one that’s truly collectivist in which private property is severely restricted (or outlawed completely) cannot survive if it permits dissent. Heads get cracked, people get “disappeared,” whole sections of the populace get relocated, jobs are dispensed by bureaucrats and much , much more. As the pure collectivist society in the old Star Trek series, the Borg, put it: resistance is futile.

Sure it can Dan.

In all of history I can think of only one collectivist society where gulags and re-education camps have not been needed. You tipped me off to where it is. And they insist they aren’t collectivist, that private ownership of property is sanctified. I think the odds are pretty good that collectivist societies can’t exist without authoritarianism. I personally am not willing to gamble my grandchildren’s future on a utopian vision that is logically not possible.

Dan do you think we have more in common with Norway or Tsarist Russia?

Have no idea. Why do you ask? Are you thinking I advocate for Czars?

Edit: I apologize for my flippancy. I know next to nothing about Tsarist Russia beyond Dr. Zhivago, so I am in no position to comment on them. But I do know we have very little in common with Norway, a country of roughly 5-6 million people spread over an area the size of a large US state, 95% of whom are of the same ethnicity, religion and culture, and who hit the jackpot by finding oil in the North Sea. The USA has 330+ million people of every race, ethnicity, language, culture, religion, etc. that exists. Not to mention a nearly evenly divided political affiliation or advocacy. IMO collectivism in the US would disintegrate into a great cacophony of each sector vying for power so it can control what happens to the collective (with their sector in charge, of course). It has internal flaws that simply would not work.

I can see the appeal it has for you. Much like the appeal of anarchism has for me. The difference between you and me, besides the obvious, is I recognize my utopia is not possible, it’s just a standard to strive for. You, OTOH, actually believe collectivism would work in spite of its lurid history and in spite of the fact it is contrary to human nature.
