OSU doesn't need to have 50K per olineman (and others) to entice signing. From high school recruit to All Conference level performer is still akin to a crap shoot.
You DO need money to reward players that develop into performers.
Mitigate transfers
Doesn't need to be at the level they might "earn" at another school, but enough that they feel respected.
Has the benefit of acting as a motivator (instead of an entitlement)
Call it the Grind Fund or something. Get some coffee shops or PEOPLE WHO LIKE COFFEE to pitch in.
Believe it or not, Gundy's vision for OSU is likely way, way ahead of the curve for institutions that won't have the resources to money whip large numbers of recruits/players.
