Spending needs to be reigned in and neither party has done that since in forever. The solutions needed would not get any politician reelected as it will be painful for the US citizens at large through reduced Ssa benefits and/or raising of retirement age to collect, cutting of federal jobs and foreign allies support. Additional tax revenue as well through tariffs which would be inflationary andr additional tax through income/national sales tax or some other which I think would be inflationary as well as companies will increase price to cover additional tax burden.

So any solutions that would actually fix the finances of the US government would be political suicide for whatever group passes that.

So they'll keep passing the buck to future years / generations
