Don't think I am going to stick with this one much longer. I absolutely love TWD, but this show is just bad, IMO. The writing is bad. The acting is bad. The actions that the characters take is ridiculously stupid. The characters (with the exception of Ruben Blades' character) are annoying.

Some issues I had with last night's episode.

-Who thinks it is a good idea to go for a swim fully clothed? Now if you fall in by accident, that is fine. If you decide you want to swim after falling in, you strip off most of your clothes and take them over to the deck before you continue swimming. Swimming in soaked clothes is not easy, especially in the ocean.

-Why the heck would they stop the boat to allow for swimming anyway? Supposedly, they were trying to get to San Diego where they were expecting a safe haven due to increased military presence there. What would be the point of stopping and drifting for a while? They weren't out of gas. They weren't having mechanical issues. Strand had already expressed concern about strangers wanting his boat due to it being a valuable resource. The best way to keep from being a target is to keep moving.

-The girl talking to the guy on the radio and giving away their location (and how well equipped their boat is) was just stupid.

-The kid not wanting to leave his mother's body and blaming his father for shooting her, was stupid.

-The kid swimming into the capsized boat and going to a lot of trouble to get the captain's log was stupid.

-The whole idea that evil people are out on the ocean shooting up other boats and killing people seems premature. IMO, this early in the zombie apocalypse, everyone would be looking for a safe haven, not killing for the sake of killing. I could see them killing to get the other boat, but not just for the heck of it.

-Speaking of that, how does a boat get both capsized and end up with bullet holes throughout the bottom of hull?

Yeah I didn't make it through the 3rd episode of the first season. Was disappointed in it from the get go the junkie son and drama queen daughter were too much for me to take.

I actually thought it was so-so last season. It got better as it went along. But, the wife and I have made the strategic decision to not watch it anymore.

On another note: I believe I mentioned this show last year when it debuted on Amazon Prime, but my wife and I just watched the entire 2nd season in one sitting (just like we did for season 1; they're only 6 episodes each) of Catastrophe. It is freaking hilarious and, IMO very true to life.

The most hilarious, somewhat tawdry, rom/com you're likely to see.

Last year was tough to keep watching. I did only because I've found several shows slow out of the gate setting up characters and plots. It was slightly better as the season progressed, enough so that I gave last night a try. And until GoT is back there is nothing else of interest.

Last night was boring and the only thing to add to what you described above was the visual effects were terrible. At times it looked like me filming a home movie and trying to create something, especially with the smaller boat evacuation.

I won't watch live for a few episodes so I don't waste time before I completely abandon if there is no improvement.

Continuity was another issue. When they fled the burning mansion on the dingy and got to the yacht, they clearly showed them stowing it below board. When dad went to rescue the swimmers the dingy was conveniently moored to the side of the yacht. There was another one right after that too but I was still SMH and can't remember now.
