FBI Unredacted --- No National Security/Intelligence Considerations

It looks more and more like it's covering their asses rather than legitimate prosecutions of crimes. Add in vindictiveness as daring to having allegiance to the country first versus being a yes man for Obama.

logan act concerns as was discussed in ketchup kerry thread

“Obama officials hounded Flynn because, to this day, they remain vindictive toward political opponents who dared to engage in foreign affairs while Obama was still president.

Democrats today are cheering former Secretary of State John Kerry’s rallying of foreign governments against President Trump’s determination to undo Obama’s Iran nuclear deal.

They make no mention of possible violations of the Logan Act, which prohibits private citizens from acting on behalf of the U.S. in foreign-policy matters. Apparently, the Logan Act, which has never been successfully used to prosecute anyone, is alive and well only when it comes to General Flynn.”

Flynn was charged and plead guilty to lying to the FBI. But carry on with the BS.

As broke as you are, you would plead guilty to something and try to turn state’s evidence to avoid legal bills that would crush you and many people for life.

“You have the right to have an attorney. If you cannot afford one, one will be appointed to you by the court.“

You might also plead guilty in order to protect your son from being railroaded by a scumbag prosecutor like Weissman. Most every father would take the hit to protect a son who was being threatened with malicious prosecution.

Chances that Mike Flynn would possibly be successful in getting a court appointed attorney (if he wanted to): 0.00%

He might have to if the court dismisses his plea. Mueller would probably simply send the Flynn case to a lower court (like he did Cohen) to prosecute. Flynn, being broke or almost there, would have a right to seek a court appointed attorney or go to GoFundMe like McCabe, a multi-millionaire, did or had done for him.

I remember back when pleading the fifth meant you were a crook, now not even pleading guilty means you are a crook.

Times have changed a bunch, and politics today is all about taking down the opponent by all means necessary in Washington D.C., the problem people have today is how these search warrants, these guilty pleas, are being obtained by people with clear conflicts of interest while issuing "justice" and performing investigations. I have no problem with equal "justice", but when HRC gets off because Comey says so and Comey testifies Flynn was telling the truth and the "investigation" goes forward, there is no equal justice. None.

Either convict ALL the crooks, or let's not live by any legal rules and let the strongest survive, either method would be more fair then what is happening today IMO.

Trump should get the HRC standard from the FBI and DOJ if we followed recent precedent, which would be a pre-written document by the head of the FBI (Like Comey did) absolving Trump of all crimes before all the witnesses were even interviewed and preventing the DOJ from moving its investigation forward, how on earth that even happens. They also interviewd HRC with NO recordings, no subpoena. Interviewed by people who loved her. But let's let the prior crooks take out their current political enemies and get them in jail while the previous crooks continue to break laws and the will of the people.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

Probably true, but a lot fewer secrets today.

You think Woodward and Bernstein didn’t ask questions and get answers that certain people would want kept secret?

I’m interested to learn how you think secrets are any ‘worse’ kept now? Good fact-finding journalism and good investigations are the historical antidote against political corruption, and leaks aren’t going to stop...they’ve also been there for a long time.

are you joking? may i direct you to the DNC emails, just for a hilarious and relevant example? secrets are infinitely harder to keep in the internet/24 hour news cycle age, obviously.

what kind of scandals would JFK have had to deal with today? The WH press used to keep certain secrets FOR these guys. can you imagine the today?

Coming from guy that thinks CNN is fair today this is golden. You had to go back to the Nixon administration to talk about an investigative piece that resulted in crimes being disclosed and acted upon. The media today retracts more news than doing anything ground breaking in reporting, journalists tweet each day instead of hunkering down and doing a tedious many months investigation that produces dead to rights facts.

The race to make the news and not report it causes these retractions, you did not have all of those retractions years ago. The news that is reported today that is significant is dispelled by the opposition party apparatus and those who are part of the opposition party. What media and journalists in the Nixon era openly was a cheerleader for a party or candidate, none that I can recall.

Nixon may have stayed in office if the crime happened today, the instant gratification media driven by clicks and ratings never could have waited for 2 journalists to take that long to draw a pay check with no results. The media that was for and against Nixon had he been office today would have so confused the public about the truth and hidden the truth that not enough unrest would result for action.

Today, transparency laws, etc... with the internet allows individuals to read many source materials and get that info fast but few read the source materials and decide for themselves, they get it spoon fed to them and interpreted for them and basically told how to act and shame you to their belief system.

We have electronic documentation today that is great and can report tremendous facts. HRC had US government secret documents on a private server that most security analysts believed was breached when she went overseas using her cell phone attached to that server. That is far more a threat to national security then what Nixon did, Nixon had a media that cared and reported ignoring the party and person. Today, the media considered the party and person and wanted HRC in office, and she was aided by the DOJ and FBI, That is pretty much all a fact, the media could careless about the truth and unfortunately the media has far more power today then under Nixon. The media today is just unpaid lobbyists that lie to keep their party and candidate in power.

The news today that probably 85% or more that this country watches is propaganda. The other 15% probably does not care and a small part of that percentage probably is motivated to see source documents and think for themselves.
