I do defend Obama, very frequently. He is a stud, especially if contrasted against the last two republican presidents. He has done the best he could, with a white heart, and faced obstruction from the time he won the election. You remember all the viral bullshit about him not taking the oath on a bible, not saluting the flag, etc. It started before he was even president. Mouth breathing rednecks never game him a chance, and they just pout when he does something good.

We call out Fallin with no hesitation. We can afford to. The left seems unable to do the same with their many, many office holders who are much worse. Clinton was a predatory rapist and his wife was an enabler of it. No criticism to speak of from the left. The left has to blindly defend this kind of sewer trout out of necessity. In the last two off year elections the dems have lost literally thousands of offices across the land -- governorships, state House, state senate and state assembly seats, mayors and city council men, having lost the U.S. House and Senate in the process. And you now have a GOP presidential candidate for whom 20% of the nation's dems say they will vote. It's a Red America more and more. The left, in sheer survival mode, has to shore up its flanks, even if it means defending the current very unpopular jobs loser, Bill Clinton the serial rapist, or Bill's other half, the Belle of Benghazi.
I have never seen a single person on this board defend Fallin or say anything positive about her. In general, I don't think many conservatives in the entire state like her, but they voted for her because she was an R and Obama has completely killed any chance a D has in this state.
To be honest, I'd prefer Dan Boren to her, but he's probably way to far to the right for you.
I heard the rumor that the fix was in a few months ago. Also heard that it would trigger a revolt among many very influential donors (not just athletic donors). Someone (Republican) told me that he would ditch his orange and start singing Boomer Sooner if it happened.
We need to make our voices heard right now to keep the fix from happening. That's why I started this thread.

Regarding the left not trying to flush their own: Yes, we do. It's called a primary. You have the same process in Oklahoma, but the collective wisdom of Oklahoma conservatives is to elect a corrupt, incompetent dumbass, isn't it? That's the obvious reason liberals can't win here, they're not Fallin-esque enough. She has taken primary and general elections at substantial margins for decades now. Your state GOP has a formal, democratic process that has consistently approved her performance over and again.
