Thinking about trading the Ridgeline for something with a bit more towing capacity and more perks...

The 2016 F-150 Supercrew is a mighty fine ride but at $$$ seems like too much truck. Any alternatives worth considering?

If you're after towing I think the best 1/2 ton on the market is the ecoboost f150. Out performs the 5.0 f150 towing a load.

Pricing out the 3.5L Eco-Boost. Haven't driven it yet but confident it will be fine. We bought an MKX earlier this year with the 2.7L and it is more than enough for that vehicle.

The wife kept rubbing the edges off the Prius and frankly it was a bit of turd. Would have gone with a Tesla for her if I had the dough...

I really really want a Tesla but both my rides are '04s so they have another 8 years in them.

I'm on my 5 th Ford Truck over the past 20 years. I keep them for 5 years. I have been very happy with all the trucks. Just sold my 2011 F 150 limited to my brother. Hated to let the 6.2 liter go. New trucks all going to be V6 soon. The new limited and Raptor are V6. You can get a great deal on a Ford Extended warranty on line. I have had very good luck but 2 times it more than paid for itself in year 4 or 5. Lots of electronic computer doohickeys that can go wrong on any new vehicle.

Still have my 2000
My 2007 F150 running strong ! and love our Subaru too (2014 XT w/ 2.0 Turbo) ! Speaking of nice rides, down here in McKinney saw a nice black Jeep w/ Texas "OSU" Tag of "OSU 17" - whoever you are - nice rig !

I never thought I would own one, but I love my Dodge. The quality has really improved over the last 5 years or so. Mine is a 2012 and will trade it for another Dodge when the time comes. If I can I will get a Longhorn, they are freaking nice.

I have a ram 1500 bighorn. I was always a Chevy/GMC guy, but the Ram, to me, is the best truck on the market right now. Looks, utility, reliability, interior amenities, gas mileage.

I sell Fords if you are looking for a deal. We currently have 2015's 2016's and we are involved in the wagon wheel program with OSU. We usually have New discounted F150's with miles under 10,000 that the coaches have driven.

Dang, missed this reply from back in the day... finally pulled the trigger. Loving the new ride.

How many miles did you put on your 6.2? Do you know how many people have put on that engine and it still ran fine?

I ask because I have a 2014 Platinum with the 16-valve SOHC VCT 6.2 L V8 , the last year Ford put it in their F-150 Platinum and Raptors. I want to keep this truck around for awhile.

Your in luck with your question, I'm the brother that docosu was talking about. I bought that truck from him last summer, it now has 62,000 miles.

It hasn't had any major issues, goes through the tires like a demon due to the setup on these Platinum editions from 2011. 22 inch rims, all that power....docosu and I talked the other day, it's on its 3rd set, and about to get another from me in about 5-7000 more miles (maybe earlier, one tire has had to eat several nails lately due to all the damn construction in my neighborhood).

The 6.2 is one mean mofo. Sounds like an angry lion at full throttle and I pass everything but a gas station lol. But I don't drive that much really, working at home, I doubt I put much more than 15,000 miles on it in a year.

Very comfy trucks, we prefer it over the Grand Cherokee for trips and such.

I bought it barely used (4k miles) and just bought my 2nd set of tires this week. The Pirellis it had lasted me all the way to 38k. I bought some Yokohama Geolandar AT G015s. I've never owned Yokohama so we'll see how this goes.

I agree on all points, it's the best truck I've ever owned (never owned a diesel) but you're right, I'm walking tall if I average just 16 mpg on a highway road trip. I only have a 15 min commute to work so I don't mind. Agree on the smooth ride and comfort too, my dad makes fun of me and calls it my cowboy Cadillac.

Here's what everyone needs..............

My next truck will, mostlikely, be an F250.

I'm currently on my third in the last 10 years. Love it. That picture is the Platinum. Never gone that route and won't next time, but I plan on getting a 2017 next spring. They made some changes I really like.

My father-in-law has a '15 model F250, think it is a Lariat with add-ons, and it's an awesome truck. His neighbor has a King Ranch and I love that leather, but it's hard to find one in this area. But, I'll drive down to Navasota (most likely) where he got his. Those guys have lifetime warranties on their big trucks. Warranty on EVERYTHING. Can't beat that.

I plan on keeping my 2011 F150 for a long time specifically because of the 6.2L. It has a ton of power, sounds fantastic with a good exhaust on it.

Get a loaded Lariat. Has almost everything the Platinum and King Ranch does, but less expensive. I personally don't like the colored bumpers that come on the platinum or the monogrammed, or whatever that is, leather in the King Ranch. A lifetime warranty is nice. You can't get that around here that I'm aware of.

Well...

Recent snow storm whacked my truck and then got side swiped coming home the other evening (night before it was headed to shop)... has maybe 2500 miles on it.

Current repair estimate around $10k and one month of shop time. Limb fell on roof, broke sunroof, damaged roof frame sufficient that they will be cutting it off and putting an entire new roof on, windshield, driver side door replacements... sigh.

Have it scrubbed of decals while in the shop. Maybe replacing chrome handles with black.

Any suggestions?

When I leave NYC I want to buy a truck. I was thinking the Ford Raptor. Any thoughts?
It doesn't get any better than the Raptor. I love the looks of the Limited F150 in white platinum and they are quite a bit less ($8K+) than a Raptor.
