I'm sure this has been discussed within many threads, but I don't really remember one focused on this set of perceptions. I strongly feel that Coach Gundy/coaching staff has this team as emotionally and physically positioned to excel in this 4 week stretch as good as or better than perhaps any other coaching staff in the country.
It's hard to comprehend the potential emotional highs and lows that the next month has in store for these young men. I assume they are strongly encouraged not to peruse the media in any form. But as hard as they have to practice, go to class , study and then play 4 extremely difficult games, isn't it human nature to want to know how you are being perceived? With technology, fellow students/fans, friends and families, it's just not feasible to completely block it out.
Imagine surviving the first two games in March Madness and then know in advance your next opponents will be Kentucky, Gonzaga, Kansas and then Duke.
I won't go into any predictions because I'm just trying to convey that we seem very prepared to face the challenges ahead. Absolutely no one realistically thought we would be at 8-0 right now. I hope they can continue to 1) briefly celebrate the victories, 2) hold their heads high and absorb any losses and 3) just go play the game and have fun, I know I will.
I know it's a lot to ask, but if there are any losses, I hope our fans can control their emotions as well as the team and coaches.
Go Pokes!
