Yeah, take Ronald Reagan. The left called him every name in the book. He would bring on a Great Depression, they said. He would begin World War 3, they said. The world would be destroyed from thermonuclear blasts, they said. He was in over his head, they said. He was stupid, they said. He was not as learned and studied as the great Jimmy Carter, they said. Then, his policies led to the fall of the Berlin wall and the collapse of the Soviet Union, as well as the longest peacetime economic expansion in the history of the world. Listening to the puny ideas and rantings of leftists are things we just have to tolerate when great leaders come along to make the world a better place.
