I know that Thomas Dziagwa gets a bad rap from a lot of folks on here about his less-than-stellar defensive abilities, but what Dizzy does for us and does so well is be the coach on the floor. The kid has basketball IQ for days (you can tell his dad is a coach), and some great leadership ability.

A story, from this summer when the boys were getting ready to go to Europe: at the end of one of their practices, the team was running wind sprints. Thomas was somewhere in the middle, under the bucket, and Yor Anei was on one end next to the sideline. As you might imagine, but the last few wind sprints, the big fella was pretty winded and finishing later than allowed. So Thomas moves from his spot to the outside of Anei and runs the last two or three wind sprints shouting encouragement to Yor the whole way.

Another example: against A&M-Corpus Christi, toward the end of the game, Coach Cooper was talking to Yor about something during a time out, and Thomas came over and bodied up Yor to show him what Coach was talking about.

If you've ever spent any time with Thomas, you know what a good kid he is. He provides this bunch with leadership which they desperately need given the youth of this team. I wouldn't be surprised to see him join the coaching ranks when he graduates and I think he's got the potential to be a really good one.
