I don't know if any of you have access to the BYU TV channel (Cox OKC does), but they are running repeats of a show called American Ride. Big dude on a Harley visiting historic landmarks and giving the back story on numerous historical events in America's past. It seems well researched and accurate. For the first time ever, I actually got the full (real) story on Billy the Kid and Pat Garrett and the bigger conflict which served as the back drop to the animosity of the two.
Their problems arose as part of a range war fought by a couple of land barons in New Mexico known as the Lincoln County War. Garrett only really went after BTK after he killed one of his deputies. A far cry from what is shown in the movies.
Pretty decent for younger viewers as my son likes to watch it and I think a lots of time lines are now starting to come into focus for him. They don't seem to be broadcasting the show sequentially however, so it may jump around between eras.
