Democrats hate women who have actually been abused

It’s interesting to see people’s statements regarding whether this accuser is or isn’t being truthful and comparing it to assumptions and claims about the truthfulness of Kavanaugh’s accuser in a different thread.

In my opinion Ellison should get a break because he is Muslim. Thats the Muslim culture for 100’s of millions of devout Muslims. If Kavanaugh is guilty he should have known better and should be held to a higher standard.

The main difference I'm getting from the 2 cases is that the Ellison accuser has text messages from him (ie evidence) talking about alleged abuse and was reported within a reasonable time frame.

Both can be investigated but I think the Kavanaugh case can be wrapped up with a 10 minute interview of each party. I mean if there is no evidence except for her accusations and his denial, what else is there to do?

Ex-girlfriend drama lol......this board is getting desperate.
Kavanaugh: guilty of attempted rape because a lady who can recall few details said Kavanaugh forced himself on her 36 ir so years ago.

Ellison: despite actual evidence of possible physical abuse, "ex-girlfriend drama."

Cognitive dissonance is a bitch. haha lol

Carry on.

I’m sure she’ll take a polygraph to reinforce her stance too

“Cognitive dissonance”

Carry on

Just remember that if they believe their own crap then a poly is useless.

Like I said...interesting.

I didn't necessarily mean for my question to be rhetorical.

Is there something else that can be investigated in a situation like this? I mean, I would think it's doubtful there could be any physical evidence to discover. If you were presented this case as something to dig into, what else can you do but interview people that may have been there???

I’m not a trained investigator, but yes...I would think there would be something that could be done beyond a 10 minute interview of each party (your original statement...which was...interesting)....you’ve already came up with one.

Another would be look for corroborating statements to others by the alleged victim over time.

One should also keep in mind that this isn’t a criminal prosecution. The burden of proof isn’t really beyond reasonable doubt. It is there enough evidence/questions in the voters’ mind that they don’t feel comfortable voting to put this guy on the highest court in the land.

As a practical matter, this show is for about 4 Republican Senators (Flake, Corker, Murkowski, and Collins) to decide what they are gonna do.

The majority of Republicans are gonna vote yes regardless of what is said on Monday or whenever. No Democrat is gonna vote for confirmation. Two of those four turn against him and he goes back to his lifetime appointment on the appellate court.

You’re better than this NZ level hack job.

The Kavanaugh allegations are more than “misconduct”.

911 calls don’t prove domestic abuse occurred either.

But like I said....the minimization of one and maximization of the other and where it is coming from is...interesting.

You know what I'm doing JD. I've been doing it for years.

And it lands at times. When you have credibility and the message is poignant, it can pack a punch.

Plus, it's a message board. Dynamism is a premium quality.

Ford's attorney didn't think Franken did anything wrong because he wasn't a Senator when he groped an unconscious woman. I wonder why she's not applying that same standard to Kavanaugh. He wasn't a judge when he was 17.

Weird.

And it gets old at times...just letting you know you’re likely becoming NZ’s favorite poster.

Besides, people are mostly dug in and have their minds made up. It's like neighborhood kids yelling at each other across the fence line.

I might as well have fun and entertain myself by watching lefties fall into predictable hysteria responding to a gif or meme I've put little thought into.

Fair enough.

There isn’t much going on here beyond posturing and chest thumping. I will give you that.
