"Democratic Socialism is not Communism"

I keep hearing this from Bernie Sanders supporters. I was just on the Democratic Socialists of America website (http://www.dsausa.org/constitution). Under their "Constitution" tab, Article II states "We are socialists because we share a vision of a humane social order based on popular control of resources and production, economic planning, equitable distribution, feminism, racial equality and non-oppressive relationships." The implication of "popular control of resources and production, economic planning and equitable distribution" is Communism. How can anyone read that and say it is not Communism?

Useful idiots IMO. There are a lot of them out there on both sides of the isle. I guess we could argue the semantics of "equitable distribution" but I fail to see how it could end up being anything other than "payment according to his needs."

Pretty sure that's what they consider to be "equitable distribution."

They can't argue the control of production and distribution.

If you put the word "democratic" in the name it has to be a good thing. Just ask the citizens of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
