If you're a Democrat and the thought of impeaching Trump makes a thrill up your leg, what do you see as the pathway to accomplish this? What high crimes and/or misdemeanors do you think he has committed that would have the best chance of getting a conviction?

"House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Trump has misled the public to a degree that "there are plenty of grounds right now for the current president" to be impeached.

But the public is not fully on board yet, Pelosi said, because "many of the president's supporters are not ready to accept the fact that their judgement may not have been so great in voting for him."

"Nancy Pelosi and her husband are currently paying mortgages on seven properties, totaling between approximately $9.8 million and $46.5 million in 2014, likely accruing big tax savings in the process.

The couple also opened home-equity lines of credit on four of these properties, adding between approximately $1.7 million and $6.5 million to their liabilities."

oh the humanity and suffering

If I were the Dems I wouldn't even bring it up yet. There isn't anything out there besides petty lying and carelessness to go after, and that aint gonna be even remotely enough. Keep your powder dry and wait till there is a huge f'up... which given Trump and team's inexperience and rush everything attitude, isn't a long shot at all.

I love it when I'm told that the only problem is that I just haven't come to accept that I was wrong.

Nancy Pelosi wants Open Borders too:

"Saturday at a press conference from the Rio Grande Valley, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) discussed her tour of a border holding facility and addressed the humanitarian crisis of thousands unaccompanied minors flooding across the U.S.-Mexico border, which she called a “humanitarian opportunity.”

Pelosi explained, “We are all Americans — north and south in this hemisphere,” and urged America to see this as not a crisis but an opportunity “to be helpful.”

She also said she wished she could simply “take home” the thousands of children temporarily housed in the overburden facilities."

No, Nancy, the entire Western Hemisphere are not Americans:

Do you agree if this Russia business does not reach the level of the Iran cantra scandal chuck Todd should resign? The child that wrote that USA Today piece said it could be the "biggest in history" in regards to American scandals.

At this point there better be transcripts of trump making promises to putin or at least audio saying he will have more flexibility after the innaguration.

Won't be the Dems that impeach DJT.

Pelosi is a hack and an idiot.

Yeah it is (a very long shot). 45 presidents, and only TWO presidents have ever been impeached with a total of 0 being convicted of said impeachment charges. Dems have already brought it up, and keeping their powder dry went out the window around the second GE debate.

We've had 5 presidents with no "political" experience. I wouldn't mistake that for "inexperience" however. Military and in this case, business experience are potentially a lot more valuable than run of the mill political resumes like the fluffy but insubstantial ones BO and Hilary brought to the table.

Anyway, impeachment amounts to just another impossibly optimistic, doomed for disappointment, self imposed mindf**** DNC leadership has imposed upon it's tender constituents.

I said its not a long shot that Trump will have a huge F' up.

At that point Dems should start the impeachment talk.

perez and ellison will get this fixed for the dems lol

By the way - this is more of the same idiocy that drives (much of) the middle to the right. The discussion of impeachment and likelihood Trump will F-Up so badly that there'll be an opening for it - instinctively makes me want to support the guy.

If I'm a cheerleader, this kind of bullshit has a lot to do with it.

Only way Trump faces impeachment is if he does something to turn a significant number of Republican Senators/Representatives against him. I would not rule out it happening, but I doubt it does.

If Trump stays as popular with his voters and GOP Senators/Congressmen voted against him, it would be a blood bath in their reelection bids. They know Trump will be gone someday. They also know they, especially in the House, will be there after Trump leaves.

The situation was similar with Nixon and Clinton.

1. Trump's nationalist policies are very strongly supported by the American people. (See below)

2. Americans overwhelmingly prefer nationalism to globalism.

3. Trump is a monumental threat to the establishment in both political parties because both parties have embraced globalism over the last few decades. (It went full overdrive under George HW Bush following the fall of the USSR, and hasn't let off since)

4. Almost all attacks on Trump are on his character, not his policies. Almost no legal Americans want high taxes, open borders, and an intrusive federal government.

Flashback: President Bush introducing the American people to globalism.

Question: without researching it, does anyone know the 'UN Founders' he was referring to?

Wonder why he (or his speechwriter) thought this was important to include the 'UN Founders' in a message to the American people. Especially since there was no internet to easily look up that information. (It was either encyclopedia or go to the library)

Didn't say it was. I think you have alluded to impeachment before. What do you see as the best impeachable offense that Trump has committed?
If anything gets him it will be emoluments or the 25th amendment. And it will come from the R's.

Nothing sufficiently exposed thus far... if he directed Flynn, if he collaborated with foreign powers to hack email servers, etc then you might have something.

My sense is he will present at least a couple if opptys for his adversaries to jump on impeachment in the next couple of years...

OK. Gotcha now. I think I misinterpreted a previous statement or two you had made earlier. Thanks for clarifying.

How do you envision the emolument clause would ensnare him? He's not receiving a salary from a foreign government with the expectation of something in return. Care to speculate/expand on that idea?

He is involved in enough businesses that if someone wanted to stir things up on the emoluments front they could do it. He wouldn't necessarily be guilty of taking bribes, just of being unpopular and harder to work with than Pence would be. They just need an excuse and it doesn't even need to be a good one.

I thought it would be some issue that wasn't that big of a deal, but the Dems would keep beating the drum, combined with vigorous mainstream media coverage that would force Republicans to crumble and go along. But you guys think it will be Republicans who will eagerly assist in the process. Interesting!

That might be the route Dems try to go to make him unpopular, but nothing happens as long as Trump is popular with Republican voters. Trump's margin of error with Pence as the VP is very small.

Actually I'd like to see him resign regardless.
