Not the spokesperson I would prefer but the information she reveals is beyond concerning. Democrat congressional leadership in the House decides to meet at 1:30 in the morning to approve a bill to go the floor for a vote. They approve it by 2:30 in the morning, do not send the text of the bill to individual members of Congress instead posting it on the website. That very same day they hold a vote on the 1.5 trillion-dollar omnibus bill without debate. Considering the bill was well over 2000 pages written in legislative language how in the hell did a single member of Congress have the opportunity read or understand what was in the bill? Maye it's just me but Congress should not be allowed to pass bills in the middle of the night that congressmen have not had a chance to read. If you want to know why people think out government is corrupt look no further than actions like this.

To be fair, I'm not just placing blame on Democrat Congressional leadership for this, but I also blame every single Republican that voted for this bill and every single Republican that is not raising hell about how the bill was passed.

…….and every single spineless R that given the same circumstances and despite their campaign rhetoric would do the same thing!.

They don’t know how to not spend. All of them are trying to stay elected and are parasitic whores.

Maybe if the Congress critter hadn't lost her committee assignments she'd be more informed? Was the draft legislation not widely debated for months before passage? Why is she so lazy? So so many questions.

How can anyone be expected to read and comprehend 2700 pages written in legislative language in less than 24 hours.
On another note when Republicans take back the House don't complain when Republicans remove several Democrats from their committee assignments. I think it will be hilarious when they removes Schiff, Swallowswell and the squad.

I know it's not going to do anything, but I called Kay Granger's office this morning, actually got a hold of someone and asked them WTF. As usual, my concerns will be relayed to the Congressman.

If you leave it to the last minute then yeah, I guess that might be hard. Why did she wait until the last minute?

if I had asked what committees she is on it might have.
Is it your impression that the Omnibus Spending Bill was a surprise to anyone other than MTG? Kinda sounds like Congressing is beyond her capabilities.

Oh, she was previously on the Budget committee.

Inferring representatives get less access to the bills they are supposed to vote on because they aren’t on committees.
She was on the budget committee. Seems like that would have given her direct exposure to perhaps 2000 of the 2700 pages. You disagree? You're right though, she certainly had ample oppty to review all but maybe 200 pages well in advance.

Seems to me there might be a misunderstanding as to what an Omnibus Bill is.

Absolutely no reason an omnibus deal is needed if Congress would do its job, but they are to busy playing politics. Why is it these elected idiots must play politics down to the wire forcing them to pass a bill at the last moment or the government shuts down? Pelosi gave up more COVID spending in the last moment to get this done, why not give it up weeks ago to make this a timely process?

Only if they bothered to do their job.

Do you believe 2700 pages of legislation was produced in secrecy?

With Democrats in power, more than likely. I know Pelosi had to give up some things to get this done or Democrats would have been responsible for shutting government down.

everyone should obviously get the same amount of time to read the final bill before it is voted on and it should be posted on the White House website for a significant period of time as well so the constituents have time to talk to their representatives. Things you probably believed in once upon a time.

You answered your question in the asking.

MTG is lying to her peeps in that video. The vast majority will just believe her.

You know the bills they packaged up have been debated for nearly six months don't you?

For your own sake do a little digging on this one. Hate to see otherwise reasonably smart people deceived like this.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

How's that Morgan Freeman mind reading going? That was a real easy one to mea culpa, but you didn't.
And that example is minor compared to the easier mea culpa (hell, he could have checked with his wife and daughters) on the forceful digital penetration of women, without consent, as not being rape. That is the one thing that sticks with me on him. Everybody on this board has had a bad to terrible take on something, but that one...woof.

So you haven't read that thread then?

Let me complete the thought for you: A gigantic orgy of unrelated things that have been debated for months and crammed together at the last minute to get enought votes to pass. Hope that helps.

when the crammed together at the last minute part is manufactured by the scum bag Harvard and Yale grads it doesn’t really present itself as an actual necessity.

I guess we could let the government default instead. That would be a Joe the Plumber power move right there. Though I suspect Joe wouldn't want that happen either.

or or or we could pass limited spending bills that fund the essential parts of our government by themselves in a timely and rational matter.
