Dem Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal hopes for assasination

She's only expressing what so many on the left hope.

Its interesting, because if that were to happen, then where's that leave the left? They can't rail on Trump, it would be Christian Conservative Pence in the oval office. The Republicans would have both houses, and a conservative president that the media can't easily bash, and the Dem, anti-Trump message would die next to him. This is the one act that might completely neuter the democratic party.

Exactly what I say to my Dem friends when they say they want Trump impeached.

Possible although the media will bash anyone not wearing the liberal yoke and ball and chain.

Also, the Missouri Senator is defying calls from her own party to resign.

I don't and haven't seen anyone from the Democratic Party run to her defense. All I've seen is calls from pretty much everyone in the Party for her to resign.

She would likely get a lot more coverage if she was a national figure, it's not like she's really that important in the scheme of things or is well known.

She should be kicked out of office, but probably won't. The irony here is this is the same state that a rodeo clown wearing a mask of the ex-rodent in chief was fired. Now you have this hag wishing Trump were assasinated and what happens? Well she haven't been fired.

Wind,

Please explain to me how you "fire" an elected official exactly?

The only way I see to remove her from office would be impeachment, which in Missouri is completely in the hands of the House of Representatives/ They can decide to bring charges and then prosecute the offending member in a trial held before the State's Supreme Court. In reviewing the "causes" for impeachment, I'm fairly certain that she could be brought up on charges relating to "Misconduct." (others may apply, but you don't have to hit a home-run, only get a single or a walk)

But here's the thing, the House of Rep's in Missouri has a significant Republican Majority, holding some 115 seats, while the Dems only hold 45 (3 vacancies.) So, if she hasn't been removed from office, the only people who I can say you can hold responsible is the Republican controlled house.

Personally, I think she should be hauled before the Supreme Court and the House take their best shot at her. Obviously, despite most members of her own party demanding her resignation, she's not going to take that option. People like her, regardless of party or position, when you cross that line you are no longer fit for office.

Can't she be arrested?

Semantics...removed from office then. But yea, not really counting on the Republicans to do much after all she is a liberal black female and since most of the R spineless nitwits are afraid of being called misogynist, racist etc etc., my guess is they won't do anything.

Was simply comparing the two situations Wood, one so benign and innocuous and the other something that would get you or I a visit from the Secret Service, maybe charges and maybe even something worse. If this doesn't illustrate the two separate standards applied to people in the US, not sure what would.

Exactly. Not to mention that some Republicans made similar comments about Obama. Ted Nugent comes to mind, and Trump invited him to the White House. Any outrage from the right about that?

No one should hope that our President is assassinated, hung, etc. No one should advocate for it either. Regardless of which side it comes from, it is wrong.

What office has Ted Nugent held?

And that matters why? If it is wrong to say or advocate such things (which it is), then it doesn't matter who says it. It is still wrong and should be condemned on both sides.

Try not to have selective outrage next time.

The reason your inclusion of Nugent doesn't matter is that this thread is about an elected office holder saying something deplorably repugnant---not what a non-office holder singer/celebrity has said. A typical nonsensical diversion from you just like we see is several other threads on this forum. You'll be better off emulating another Oklahoman who said to stop digging when you find yourself in a hole.

A celebrity who has been politically active and who was invited to the White House by the current President.

I'm sorry, you can't have it both ways while trying to hide behind some technicality to excuse your selective outrage. Such behavior and comments are wrong from both sides. Period.
