It's no surprise to me things went a little haywire yesterday. We hadn't faced an explosive passing attack yet, so mistakes were inevitable. Defensive backs were off-balance and out of position regularly, and we couldn't tackle a mailbox. But we will get better from this...the film and learning tools are now officially in place to tighten this defense up into a top group.
We will be fine. I learned more about this team against Tech than I did all season. We've got some talent, and we finally got a challenge from an elite offensive team and survived a true shootout. I doubt many Cowboy fans believed we were capable of that 2 months ago - if I told you we'd give up 53 to Tech and win, I'm confident I would've put another thread in the Hall of Fame with the ensuing onslaught of degradation and ridicule, but our offense got better. Our defense will too
