I see some R's (on Twitter) defending her and trying to use the 1st amendment... deflecting to Maher and others.

No, she was wrong. She is racist and cannot be overlooked or tolerated. President should've denounced the racism IMO.

I think we need to call a spade a spade. Bob Iger doesn't need to apologize to Trump but he does need to call a spade a spade and fire Keith Olberrman. Let's stop with the tribalism and 'team sport' politics.

Both Rosanne and Olbermann shouldn't be tolerated in 2018.

How about neither should be fired. If people are so offended what either say, they won’t watch their shows and the shows/people will be fired due to poor ratings.

Companies can do what they wish... just like the NFL anthem policy.
Agree completely. I think companies should not do this...and simply react to ratings not feelings. I’m definitely not saying the government should intervene.

Agree... lots of overreaction due to public pressure applied mostly through social media. David Hogg's campaigns are a great example.

There isn’t really any pressure. The media makes it sound horrible for these companies, but it really isn’t. Most lose more money overreacting than if they did nothing...but they are fearful of their own image more than they are the stockholder’s interest. The general public really just doesn’t care. There is a very vocal minority yelling for boycotts and most people just don’t care.

As @Ponca Dan will tell you, the free market will figure it out.

How do you know she is? Because unless you've got a compelling case as to how you know that she is racist, your opinion (IMO) is part of the broader problem. (And I'm not defending her tweet in challenging you on this, just to get that out of the way.)

Why should he?

Both are 100% sincere questions.

*Believes Ambien makes racism*

You're right. I don't know intent. All i know is her tweets were racist. I should've phrased better and limited to that. Apologies.

You'll (maybe) make it some day, Clinton. I believe in your capacity.

But today is not that day. And currently observable predictors show no real sign of near-term improvement.

Lol. Carry on.

No worries. Glad you can see that distinction.

It's very important that people see that distinction.

You thinking she’s not a racist is a tell tale sign of pure ignorance

At some point you and people like you will need to grow past 3rd grade level thinking.

It'll be rough as you gradually embrace the fact that the world is a MUCH more complex and sophisticated place than you currently think....but I believe you have the capacity to make it through with persistent effort and desire.

Complex and sophisticated are two adjectives rarely used in relation to Trumpets lol. Nice try terrible fail

She's admitted to being a liberal Democrat for most of her life so if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck...

Although I have no love lost for VJ, Roseanne's firing was justified AND most can see the overt hypocrisy that ABC and others perpetuate. Both statements can be true.

“Overt hypocrisy” lol...

- tv star makes a dumbass tweet and shows the world what she really feels (Ambien blah blah blah)
- ABC fires her
- “overt hypocrisy”

Great stuff in the board today haha

Sometimes you can’t fix stupid.

Honestly, your statement is a pretty sad reflection on you.

I don't contend that her firing wasn't okay or even advisable.

While I see what you did there in your first statement, it's default IF THIS, THEN THAT thinking (that we see from handy example @CSCOTTOSUPOKES ) that we largely need to grow beyond in public discourse.

In the end, whose it going to hurt more if we go down this road?

Libs really suck at seeing the knock on effect.

Or rewards their foresight.
Yeh...again, that won’t happen. Majority of people don’t care, they want to be entertained. People didn’t suddenly stop like that show because she said something dumb on Twitter.

Love it. You clearly know much better than the people in charge of a multi billion dollar enterprise how to respond to the market.

Any hot stock tips to share? Any thoughts on how we should be working to overcome Amazon Web Services first mover advantage beyond our focus on workload portability?

They didn’t make the decision based on a financial decision...it was over personal beliefs and feelings. You are smart enough to know this. People who watched that show didn’t give a damn what she posted on Twitter.

Not really defending but she said she thought VJ was white.

That said

How is she racist?

Sounds like a speech you could be giving to lefties about the NFL anthem policy...
