Deer sightings

Both in Oklahoma and on my place this evening in North Texas, I watched bucks isolating one doe and staying with her and keeping her away from other deer... out in the open plains, just like the rut was on. Nice 8 pointer 150 yards off my porch. Better watch out next time. Same happend this weekend in SE Oklahoma.

I was talking to 74 earlier tonight and he said he's seeing absolutely no sign of rutting activity on his place or game on game cams.

They are chasing does in Colorado

Some were chasing in NW Oklahoma on opening weekend of black powder. A buddy of mine took a nice 10 off my place while he was dogging does.

My uncle called yesterday to tell me they are chasing hard now.

Hopefully the peak will hold until next weekend when I can go out. According to SoLunar theory, the 16th is supposed to be the best hunting day of the year.

I'm going to be in a a tree most of this week. Will be very cold/windy but I expect to see a lot of activity. Hopefully get a shot off.
