I want to read the specifics.
Edit: I've read before that there were some issues tied to incarceration rates or something that stemmed from an Obama policy.
I'd like to see documentation and specifics.
This is likely a gap where policy had good intentions, but downstream impact was not fully investigated.
I have a friend that lives in Broward county and he is actively involved in the community. From what he has told me, Broward County and the School District wanted the federal money Obama put up. What they did was quit enforcing the law, rules and regulations to get the crime numbers down, which in turn qualified them to receive the money the Obama program put up. The crime groups in the area figured out real quick that towards the end of each month they would get high school age kids to commit crimes, if they were caught they would be let go in order to keep the crime numbers down.
That's the gist of my understanding.
In essence the Obama policy incentivized a lack of enforcement.
The gunman should have been locked up behind bars except things he did which would have resulted in being inside the criminal justice system were ignored or overlooked and he was let into school. Several opportunities to prevent that event were ignored.
While I can't say it surprises me, this is exactly why the federal government has absolutely no business doing anything but issuing block grants to states so the adults can run the show. By some crazy coincidence that also makes your local officials more responsible for the good, the bad and the ugly. Much easier to boot their asses from office for rank incompetence, federal officials not so much.
One of these days, a real journalist will dissect the ex-rodent in chiefs presidency and arrive at the conclusion most people saw at its inception. The guys was a jive talking loser, who couldn't manage his way out of his own one-piece footie pajamas.
