nobody cares! Nobody owes anyone anything. Get over yourselves.

The bitching and whining gets old after the 3rd or 4th shove it down your throat soapbox.

good god, 4 hours of a bunch of crap. I used to like dicaprio until all his mindless dribble. Hey, shut up, do your job, and go home afterwards. The guy doesn't care what kind of crap he's spewing. Here is one of his quotes on global warming....and he invests in fake diamonds also!! He's nothing but a fake.

"We were in Calgary and the locals were saying, 'This has never happened in our province ever.' We would come and there would be eight feet of snow, and then all of a sudden a warm gust of wind would come... it was scary. I've never experienced something so firsthand that was so dramatic. You see the fragility of nature and how easily things can be completely transformed with just a few degrees difference. It's terrifying, and it's what people are talking about all over the world. And it's simply just going to get worse."

The comments were widely reported in the press, particularly since chinook winds are a well-known weather phenomenon in the region and have been dating back over a century when European settlers first began recording weather data.[138] Despite Michael Platt of the Calgary Sun describing his comments as "pseudo-scientific fantasy", DiCaprio has continued to incorrectly identify Chinook winds as evidence of climate change, including in backstage comments at the 2016 Screen Actors Guild awards, during a meeting with Pope Francis[139], and in his acceptance speech at the 2016 Academy Awards.

DiCaprio is also an investor in Diamond Foundry, a company that produces synthetic diamonds.[140]

The only way to watch that crap on tv is the monologue (which was underwhelming) and the last 20 minutes. So, from now on lets trim that bitch down to 30 minutes and trash the rest.

Overall one of the more boring Oscar shows I can ever remember. Chris seemed to miss the concept that if you are trying to make a point and get people to take it seriously less is more. Most of his bits fell flat and seemed forces. Still not sure who anyone thought should have been nominated that wasn't.
Overall had the same problem a lot of recent Oscars shows have when the host thinks they are the star and it's all about them instead of recognition of the work done by the nominees. Thought all the winners were deserving if not necessary my personal picks. As for Leo. He won. If he won't to spend his one minute on a rant I don't really care. Honestly if it offends you that badly don't watch.

I'm watching and I'm gonna bitch about it

Watched most of it (missed an hour to watch TWD). Thought it was mostly boring and Chris Rock was 85% unfunny. Not as many hot chicks as usual either. All in all, a big bag of meh.

I boycotted because Hollywood is full of pussies with ideas who are out of touch with reality. Doesn't matter what skin color they are, they all pretty much suck, other then them making movies. I will go see the movies but I am not investing anymore time into those jokes of people then that. What because they are famous then I need to conform to their thinking GTFO and STFU.

I watched most of it which was a mistake. I thought Chris Rock did pretty well overall. It was a difficult course for him to navigate and I thought he did it well. I especially liked his cracks against the Smiths. I think if he could have hosted without all of the drama he would have been one of the best ever. I hope he does it again next year. That aside, next year I will watch the opening and DVR the rest in case something good happens. The constant preaching, even if they are noble causes, gets old pretty quick. Plus, they have the show so backloaded now there is no reason to watch unless you care who wins best short documentary. I was glad Spotlight won best picture. I saw The Martian, The Revenant, The Big Short and Spotlight and thought it was the best of those 4 at least.

I guess I thought it was a little hypocritical to rail against racism and then use little Asian kids' race as a joke.

If you are talking about Sasha Baron Cohen, what he said was not cleared by anyone ahead of time. He blew off the script and did his own thing. That is why the girl next to him didn't say anything.

No I am talking about Chris Rock's joke about the Oscar's "Asian Accountants" and then parading little Asian kids in suits out on stage.
