Great guns a-blazing: Deadwood could make a comeback to HBO.

Though insiders caution that it may be too early to start playing those Al Swearengen drinking games, an HBO spokeswoman confirmed that “preliminary talks” have begun about turning the David Milch western series into a (small screen) movie.

Those coc******'s shouldn't have cancelled it in the first place. One more season, with a wrap up 2hr finale would have been perfect.

I wonder how much $ it would take now to recreate the sets?

Loved the show. Not sure it would translate well to a 2 hr movie. At least not one that is capable of standing alone without being dependent upon viewers having seen the HBO series. Although, they did a pretty good job of that with Firefly/Serenity, I don't think it as easy to pull it off with a Western as it is with Science Fiction.

The scene with Al teaching Wu how to say coc****'s is still one of my all time favorites.

I've read about the real Al Swearengen and I still can't get over how he lost his fortune and died penniless after slipping and falling under a train's wheels while trying to hop aboard a moving freight car (hobo style.)

The interactions between Al and the Preacher were always my favorite. That actor Ray McKinnon is the one who created "Rectify" on Sundance Channel. Fantastic show if you haven't seen it.

No one has seen it. I read somewhere it is the lowest rated scripted show on cable. Which sucks because it is one of the best shows around.
