Individual vs collective. The Overton window's move to the left has cast classical liberals as conservatives. Comedy sucks because comedians preach and self censor. Trump is a response - an eccentric narcissist who isn't Hillary. Libertarians need to get their shit together.

People have been saying Libertarians need to get their shit together for as long as I can remember. In the late 60’s/early 70’s it was Robert Poole (Reason Magazine) vs Murray Rothbard (AnarchoCapitalist that founded the Libertarian Party but was drummed out by the more “conservative” element) vs Emmit Tyrell (American Spectator/independent conservative who never really truly thought of himself as a libertarian). Nowdays it’s the minarchists vs the anarchists. The Libertarian Party is next to worthless, put forth a couple of bogus candidates in the last election, a couple of Republicans if you want the truth. Libertarians are individualists and anti authoritarian by nature. I doubt there will ever be a unified libertarian (small l) movement. It’s pretty much every man for himself. And a lot of us like it that way!
Peterson specifically. He has figured how to use his often absurd deconstructoinist approach to build a little YouTube empire. How his followers don’t see through his little sham is an interesting statement about where we are: “Hey man did you see the latest on how YouTube is censoring everyone ... here’s the link to the video.”
As a liberty type you should be offended at his anti speech rhetoric but instead you perpetuate the narrative that he is being unfairly censored. Embarrassed for you.
I don’t know the first thing about this Peterson fellow. But I get the impression people are far more interested in what he has to say about culture and politics than his shoddy treatment by Google (or whoever). If I remember correctly there was (is?) a lot of hullabaloo about his being censored, but that would be because people thought he had something important to say. You are unfair to say you are embarrassed by Mega’s admiration of the man.
You have drifted with the Overton Window. Anchorless. Rootless. Lacking a consistent ethos. But... Tell me more.
