Who is leading in the Hodge race? Fix has a chance he will have better opponents than Lee. Gable will have a good test with Paris.

Gable is not in the picture unless Lee loses. Hodge is about pinning and domination.
Lee will face much better guys in b10 tournament and still could pin (or tech) his way thru NCAA.

Gable has more matches and strength of competition is a criteria.100% bonus rate this year.

Most have not yet wrestled half their season, too early to say much about sos, Hodge was a pinner.

Hodge Trophy criteria.

1) A wrestlers record
2) Number of pins
3) Dominance on the mat
4) Past credentials
5) Quality of competition
6) Sportsmanship/Citizenship
7) Heart

Hate to say this but even being a rabid OKSTATE fan, Daton won’t get the Hodge because he just got off suspension for drug use, not important if it was college related and Gable won’t get it because of past off the mat distractions. I CANNOT STAND, Iowa but I don’t see how Lee doesn’t get the Hodge. Cake walk weight, unbelievable bonus percentage, he’s a good guy with no priors of any kind.

Daton Fix is already one of my all-time favorites and I hate it that he got caught cheating. I am still ignorant to what exactly it was, but I am under the impression that it wasn't a terrible level of cheating and was possibly an accident.

I know that the testing stuff is very, very strict. One of my college athlete friends couldn't even take a beneficial prescription for diabetes until it approved. It wasn't a performance enhancer and it wasn't common to all diabetics, but, it was needed for the specific set of circumstances.

That said, Fix should be exempt from being able to win this award this year. I see it as an award for pinners and journeymen. With Fix only competing in a small portion of the season is enough to say that he shouldn't win it. But, OW at the NCAAs would be a great consolation prize for him.

He didn't "get caught cheating." And Fix has more matches (5 vs 4) than Lee, but he is not winning the Hodge if Lee is undefeated, nor will Gable.

Well, please explain what happened if he didn't get caught cheating?

Also, what percentage of matches has Lee wrestled compared to his team members? That has to play a part in it?

I'm sure you can Google, but:

The panel found that Fix ingested ostarine by drinking from a water bottle which contained a supplement mixture in addition to ostarine. Fix explained he was not aware of the ostarine in the supplement mixture and voluntarily submitted to a polygraph test as part of the investigation process.

The panel agreed with Fix and USADA that Fix did not intend to enhance his athletic performance by ingesting ostarine and his degree of fault was low. Fix voluntarily submitted a polygraph test during the investigation

Thats not a "got caught cheating" as far as we know he accepted a suspension because it allowed return for trials etc vs a long hearing process or hence a longer delayed suspension which would have prevented such.

Exempt? 🤔, strange word to use for ‘disqualified’. I can’t quite understand how a true OSU fan could say that. Especially since the IOC believed his story enough to give him a slap on the wrist. To suggest more punishment than the NCAA suggests is...🤯

I am not sure why you guys seem to be getting bent out of shape. I don't really even know what Ostarine is, how beneficial it would be or that he might've even done it on purpose?

Regardless, he got popped, his reputation is tarnished. He is still my favorite Wrestler and I don't believe he did it on purpose or did it well enough to have a benefit from it. I don't know what the chemical is, but it has been reported (very poorly in my opinion) that the levels were negligible.

So, to question my status as a fan because somebody failed a drug test that I still root for and believe in is asinine. If it were Lee, Bo Nickal, David Taylor or any other elite guy, we would be saying the same things.

Either way, that is caught cheating. Was it on prupose? I don't think so. Was it beneficial? I don't know? If you prefer, I will change the verbiage to caught negligent?

No point really in arguing semantics. We're just lucky he got only a 1 year suspension rather than the 4 yr he could've received. If the ostarine was in his Dad's drink as the story goes, his Dad should've labeled the d@mn bottle. Can't imagine keeping banned substances where my elite level athlete son could accidentally ingest them, but life goes on.

If trends continue it should be Lee. But they may like a new and shiny thing and go with Gable.
