I had posted a similar thread a couple days ago that didn't get much traction. I think I'm for it but likely more because I know ObamaCare isn't sustainable (it literally requires us to bribe insurance companies through guaranteed subsidies to provide coverage in some markets and even that's not working) and if this doesn't pass then the only replacement that will come will be a single-payer model. Given that single-payer will become the largest welfare program in history, and we already have $20T in debt, I don't see any way in which single-payer doesn't hammer the middle class with new and expanded taxes and costs as well as decreased quality and service, I'm absolutely against it. So for that reason, I'm on board with this bill.

I read a headline that the insurance companies hated it (I know I know). I figured that's a good thing.

Yeah, it seems like emotional policy, until you consider some of those people who are dying could be troops or cops. Are you against the troops? Are you against blue lives?
