What's sad is that this becomes the new precedent, and we'll never go backwards. I pray the supreme court shoots down these subpoenas, not to protect Trump, but to protect the dignity of our government and prevent the retribution these precedents will allow going forward. If we continue on this trajectory, our democracy won't survive my lifetime, and I only wish I was being overly dramatic.
Think about it. The next president that says "I'll have more flexibility" on a hot mic becomes investigatable for the entirety of his/her remaining term. Subpoena EVERYTHING from EVERYBODY then impeach on obstruction if they roll their eyes at you. That's is the new precedent for our presidency that's being set.
