CPAC 2019 (Conservative Political Action Conference)

Van jones is going to the biggest yearly klan rally in America? Jussie Smollett better be his plus 1 so he is safe.

Twitter makes people dumber with every tweet.

If you were Trump’s political advisor in 2015 and successfully persuaded him into your viewpoint — President Hillary, Secretary of State Podesta and runner-up Jeb(!) would be permanently indebted to you.

1. Twitter, other social media and memes contributed to Donald Trump winning the 2016 election far more than any television station.

Fox News, with its measly 3 million (ish) viewers at any given time, had minimal impact on Trump’s victory.

2. The institutional left is acutely aware that they lost the election because of the internet — and have worked feverishly to ensure it never happens again.

This has been through censorship, shadowbanning, un-personing, search engine result rigging etc. The GOP has done little to stop or even slow it, and the results already helped Dems in the 2018 mid-terms. The GOP establishment blew it, in every way.

3. Trump’s biggest source of power as president is easily his Twitter account. He doesn’t seem to have much real control over any branch of government — or even his own cabinet (thanks to his terrible cabinet appointments).

But his effective use of Twitter to go around the media and intimidate his opponents has helped him.

However, he’s almost turned into the Tweeter in chief — aka All-Tweets, no action on his core 2016 campaign pledges — especially in immigration, such as DACA.

And yet, this isn't an argument on whether or not Twitter makes you more stupid. Thank you for proving my point.

CPAC = Comic-con

But instead of people dressed up like their favorite comic characters, it's just a bunch of individuals getting hard-ons over conservative political talks and panels. It's entertainment, not governing.

'One People, One Nation, One Leader!' poster of Hitler, 1938

'One People, One Nation, One Leader'
The cult of the leader, which surpassed any normal level of trust in political leadership, is central to an understanding of the appeal of National Socialism. It was undoubtedly the most important theme running through Nazi propaganda.

The Nazis turned to völkisch thought (a product of nineteenth-century German romanticism) and the notion of Führerprinzip ('the leadership principle'), to embody their ideas, and Hitler was shown in posters as a mystical figure, guiding the nation's destiny. In practical terms, the leadership principle meant that decisions came down from above, instead of being worked out by discussion and choice from below.

The essentially negative anti-parliamentarianism of Nazi propaganda led to the projection of the 'Führer-myth', which depicted Hitler as both charismatic superman and man of the people.

A veritable industry of paintings and posters showed Hitler in familiar 'renaissance pose', alongside the propaganda slogan: Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Führer ('One People, One Nation, One Leader'). The slogan was used to great effect in 1938, with the Anschluss ('union'), when Germany joined in union with Austria.

From 1936 until the Munich agreement of 1938, which gave the Sudetenland to Germany, Hitler carried out a series of audacious foreign policy coups, and these won him support from all sections of the community. He was now widely acclaimed throughout Germany, enjoying unparalleled popularity and prestige.

@NZ Poke how about some clips of trump from cpac today. You got them cut up yet? Me and pokebear can snuggle on the coach and watch them together.

Great minds think alike

If you thought a President or party was a breath from being literally Hitler, don't you think you would sack up, form a posse, and go out guns-a-blazing?

Not these libs though, they just scream and pound the keyboard.

Even their hyperbole is amateur hour. They cant link their risk-response to the proclaimed risk.
