We were doing some spring cleaning in our house and I ran across an old box of comic books I had as a kid. Nothing mint. But I did have the the 1977 Star Wars #1 - #6, some strange occult ones from late 70's and early 80's, Conan the Barbarian, Machine Man, Mr. Miracle. Just odd ones.

Where's the best place to get them appraised or sold in the Tulsa area? Anyone on here with comic book experience?

I don't know anything about stores in the Tulsa area, but I would suggest looking them up on line and try to get a sense of their value before taking them to a local store. The store won't give you close to what their value is because they are assuming risk of being stuck with them, and want to make some profit if they sell them. But, it is smart to have an idea of whether or not they are being fair.

Thanks. That Star Wars #1 is the 35 cent version valued at a few grand. Not a bad start.

Contact Wizard's Asylum in Tulsa.

He will get you the answer or point you in the right direction.

99% of what you have from that era is probably worthless unfortunately. Always good to do some research just to make sure you don't have a hidden gem in there. The Star Wars #1 is a good find and probably your most valuable. On ebay they go for $50 or $60 ungraded. Really the only time they fetch top dollar is if they have been sent off and graded.

Most stuff from the 70s or 80s doesn't bring much unfortunately
