Do we expect all wrestlers to participate? Battles that could determine our starters below:

133 - Hughes and Witcraft
149 - Carter and ?
157 - Travis and Sheets

Will we also see:

133 - McComas
141 - Burton
157 - Fish
197 - Merrill
Hwt - Doucet

I was hoping for Scuffle. I’m sure it’s more recent than I realize but I don’t remember last time we sent a group to midlands.
Does the Scuffle allow unattached or Redshirts? Wouldn't be an issue at 133 but we could send plenty of young guys to get some matches. As far as not having sent guys to Midlands in God knows how long, we also hadn't sent guys to the MSU open.

Yeah I believe the scuffle is an open tournament so we could send redshirts

Next year will be big for getting our redshirt freshmen into Opens and wrestling some duals because of our big and great quality class of 2025. The 2024 class is not much with likely 2 wrestlers being top quality ( Merrill and McComas). I especially would like to see Merrill win some big matches this year because as I see it, he is a big part of our future. Also, I was looking forward to this year seeing Sakamoto wrestle. Ant information in regards to his future as a Cowboy? I think Merrill has beaten his Penn. St. counterpart soundly in the past ( I believe he has beat both Mirasola brothers). Now we have a redshirt soph Thompson who I was really looking forward to seeing at Mich St. but he didn't wrestle. I believe Thompson beat Ryder and Barr in high school. I look forward to seeing him beat some high ranked opponents this year in Opens and duals. Next year's class I may be more interested in seeing than the starters with Vega, Robideau, Lockett, Routledge, Johnson, Ramirez, Guerrero and Hickman as top 100 recruits ( some of these freshmen could be starters).

Good work my man. 125 is insane! Orine being ahead of Tagen is laughable. He’ll grab him and squeeze the sh/t right out of him. Hamiti wins it.

I think we see several Cowboys move right on up the rankings! This is gonna be a trip for the history books for all of us going!

This tourney is going to show if OK State is for real this season or not. And Spratley, Jamison, and Surber are key to the team's success this year and need to go out there and show what they got in this tournament. This is definitely going to show how much improvement they have made. I would love to see Surber run into AF and CC and smoke them both! For no particular reason at all. haha

As far as a single wrestler I am most excited to see how they do, it would be Cael Hughes. I do not think there is a ranked wrestler in the bracket that he does not have a shot at beating. It is just up to him to go out there and wrestle how we all know he is capable of. This will definitely show OK State fans and DT where Cael is at as a wrestler. Very excited about this RS freshman.

I think I am most excited to see how the HWT bracket turns out. You have some vets at the weight and some new guys coming off redshirt or moving up to the weight that can make some noise this year.

#3 Wyatt Hendrickson OK St.: Lost to Bastida LY and then was surprised by Davison in the semis at nationals LY.
#4 Yonger Bastida Iowa St.: Did not AA last year after undefeated regular season.
#5 Isaac Trumble NC St.: New to the weight and has made some noise recently in freestyle. U23 World Champ
#7 Taye Ghadiali Campbell: 8th last year and trying to prove something wrestling in the SoCon.
#8 Nick Feldman Ohio St.: Will be a National Champ before his college career is over.
#9 Cohlton Schultz Az. St.: 4x AA, but you are never sure who is going to show up on the mat.
#12 Josh Heindselman Michigan: Still only known for getting trucked by AJ during handshakes after Bedlam.
#14 Cory Daly Binghampton: A lot of wins LY, but was it because of his SOS?
#16 Jim Mullen Va Tech: Blue Chip recruit looking to make noise in his first year starting and focusing on wrestling (not playing football).

I think we see Reece at 133 for Vegas

Will be interesting to see who goes at 133. Back to back weigh-ins, so if Hughes is not ready for that, we’ll see Witcraft.
