id be interested to know how many chunk plays over 20 yards we have. When Monk was here we had these in droves. Doesn't seem like we have had many so far this season.
I also can't recall letting Mason air out the deep ball hardly at all? I remember one to Shepherd against UTSA. If we aren't attempting any deep balls and throwing down field we aren't doing any justice to the offense and keeping the defense off our short routes.
Also, I'd agree we have to find a run game no doubt. I agree with the balance. The osu teams that were so successful had great run games. The problem seems to be we have average rb talent and a average to bad oline. If you have those 2 things you need to get creative with your run calling. Running up the middle every dang time is a call for disaster. Get creative with the run game and get to the outside. Yes call maybe 5-8 runs to the middle to keep the defense honest and test it to see if it can actually work like it did for a small portion of the Texas game with Rennie child's. But when the other team makes adjustments and stuffs it every damn time swallow your pride and get creative and run to the outside.
Whoever is calling the damn plays is either that stupid or that proud. If their that stupid it's time for someone else to step in and figure it out. If their that proud it's time for someone to call them out and get them to swallow their dang pride.
