My child support is coming to a close this May. The last day of classes are in May but the commencement ceremony is in June. The child is 18.

A) Do I have to pay for June if classes end in May.

B) Do I need to file anything with the state for closure?

Thanks

I read my decree from cover to cover dude, thanks though.

It is a pretty common scenario so yah, maybe someone has had a similar experience.

In my brother's case it ends the month they turn 18, school has no bearing.

In Oklahoma it is 18 unless you haven't graduated from HS yet.

Classes end in late May but commencement is in early June.

Common sense would say the end of classes but I only stayed at a Holliday Inn and am not a lawyer.

I would think you could contact the court and ask they should be able to answer this quick.

I would think it would end when classes end...graduation is nothing but fluff...sort of like the spring football game.

1st congratulations. You should not need to file anything with the state, I had mine automatically withdrawn from my check ( my lawyers advice, was good advice) they went over about two weeks but quickly sent me a card with the money back that I overpaid. My attorney said if I would have contacted him he could have stopped the payment abruptly at the graduation but I didn’t lose any money anyway. Hope this helps and congrats on your kid graduating and you being done with child support, now go buy yourself something nice!
