I need some ideas for a 12 YO kid. He needs to be kept busy and I think he would benefit from seeing how difficult some people have it.

We are in the Tulsa metro.

Tough to find a place that will take on a kid of that age as a volunteer/employee. Most of the non profits require kids to be 15 or 16.

Not much help, I know.

The United Way is always a good first phone call. They usually have a finger on the pulse of policies related to the various charities they are affiliated with. Animal shelters will usually (with parental supervision) let young teens help out. Kids are great for exercising animals and socializing them.
