Chapelle’s standup show“Sticks and Stones” on Netflix is comedy gold. And great social commentary.

His joke about Louis C.K. got me thinking about some of the unintended ramifications of the #metoo movement. I’m not saying what Louis did was in anyway okay, but who was really hurt by his actions? The women who admittedly ran from the room laughing or Louis’ two young daughters? These women who believe they have to defend the rights and future of women did their very best to destroy those two young girls lives. It was perverted but on the very fringe of sexual assault IMO(he made his intentions known in both situations and they stuck around). It just doesn’t set well with me. C.K.’s situation is nowhere close to a Weinstein level. Just a sad deal all the way around.
What Louis CK did was scumbag central. Having said that, dude is still funny as hell. Carry on.I agree that there are levels to this stuff that get brushed over. Louis didn't do do anything nearly as bad as Weinstein. However, what Louis CK did was pretty terrible and not acceptable in any situation. It is in no way on the fringes of sexual assault. If you or I did what he did we would probably be in jail or at the very least a registered sex offender.
I say this as a Louis CK super fan who has basically loved anything he has ever done and worshiped the guy.
Like I said, I’m not saying it’s okay in anyway. I guess my point was that from the stories I remember, he did vocally make his intentions known before he got to it. How in the hell someone gets to the point where they can’t have anymore self control then that is a serious problem, but if they decided to remain within his sphere at that point doesn’t that negate a lot of the issue from a legal aspect?I agree that there are levels to this stuff that get brushed over. Finally watched Burr’s special. It was great too. “I don’t know what the F- is going on, but I think white women started it.”Watched it last week, it was great, as was Bill Burs special.
