Do we have room for these guys?
In 2016, we will have 9 returning scholarship safeties and 5 returning scholarship cornerbacks. We already have 3 cornerback commits in the 2016 class, but it sounds like two of them may not be completely solid. These guys have both said good things about OSU too, but the quotes below make you wonder a little bit about whether or not we will be able to hold onto them.
Malik Kearse:
"My only offer so far has come from Oklahoma State. I committed right away. I haven't even spoke to any other schools. I'd like to hear from Florida State, Miami, Louisville, and Georgia though. I chose to commit to Oklahoma State early on. A lot of it had to do with that being the only way I could get the offer. I needed a big offer like that to get things started for me. I feel like if any other programs want to offer, they should. I would listen to them. I'd still make myself available to them."
Madre Harper:
"I do like Stanford. It's obviously something that I still have to consider obviously with great education and great football. But, I mean, just because I get a new offer doesn't mean I'm going to committing or anything like that. But I'm still going to consider it. I still want to keep my options open because you never know how from here to Signing Day is going to go but I still want to make sure I'm still picking the right decision, still keeping my options open. But I still like Stanford, don't get me wrong, but I don't know about decommitting or nothing or like that. But they're still something highly respectable and I still have to look at that. (Stanford offers) a great education. Coach Shaw has really built up the program and he's really doing great things. He's a great coach. I really like him. I like the way he does things. Obviously the atmosphere, and it's California, great weather, everything is great. And at Stanford, the type of opportunities that you get with having that degree and also being able to still play top-tier football. They're still going to bowl games, they're still winning games. So it's not like you're playing for some top school that doesn't win. Great education, also great coaches and great football. I mean, that's kind of hard to beat."
