A couple of things:

A team like this(with lot's of talent but still young) NEEDS a schedule like this. A loss to a Miss St or an Arizona early might cost you a play off berth. Yes, I still expect this team to compete for a Big 12 title. ALL of the contenders have holes in their squad right now Baylor giving up 31 points to Lamar is not good. TCU has injury and inexperience problems, uo's OL is as bad as ours. WVU has played as good as anybody but has a tough schedule. It does not hurt to play a soft schedule when you still have areas of concern to work on.

Both of the teams we have played have allowed us to work on our weakness. I would like to think if we were playing better teams we would go to the pass more. But look at it this way. What better way to prepare your team than to get film of your most glaring weakness and get those kids in the film room and on the practice field and correct it. This OL CAN AND WILL get better. If not, then we were all wrong on our assessment of Adkins as an OL coach.

As someone else pointed out earlier every time we have been behind or challenged, we have scored immediately. This makes me think we are working on other things. We don't need a REAL game right now. Those will come later. I think we will be ready by that time.
