California = unsustainable

And now the dems in the state legislature have a veto proof majority......they deserve the financial shit storm that’s coming. Hope they don’t come crying to Congress hat in hand for bailouts.

This article was by the California Republican Party chairman lol...yes, California has its problems economically, but it’s still the worlds 5th largest, and unemployment is a record low.

U.S. bail out California? I'd invite you to view another thread about our 60% larger budget deficit this year over last. THey'll need to bail us out.
Not as long as the federal government is the only entity that prints currency.

I did see your trolling thread earlier. And I’ve explained before how your blanket “THIS is conservative government” theme is inaccurate, but I’ll take the opportunity to restate. Our budget deficit is not a product of conservative principles at all. It’s the product of the abandonment of conservative ideals.

You’re smarter than this.

Right. It's always a perversion of the underlying ideology. Like the Soviets and communism. That wasn't true communism, either I guess. It's always the same when conservatives take over government. Look at what they DO, going back to Reagan.

"Deficits don't matter." That is an actual statement from Dick Cheney. I will never understand how you guys can watch your own party lie, consistently, over two generations, claim they're fiscally conservative and then they explode the deficit every time they get control. Then ya'll give lip service, they say they're fiscally conservative, and they blow up the budget again.

So you think deficits matter?

So you think deficits matter?

Well, yeah, if they're big enough they can. So are you gonna hit me with some whataboutism or admit the GOP has been bait and switching you for the last two generations?

I assume you think our deficit matters at the size it is now?

I freely admit that too many Republican politicians are all talk. But the conservative wing of the party isn’t as powerful as you think it is or as I want it to be.

Neither Reps or Dems will ever allow the cuts needed to do away with Pork Barrel spending. Frankly, I am ok with shutting down the government for an entire year to force a balanced budget if that is what it takes. That would be a good way to start a reduction in the size of the Federal Government because most would have to find new jobs and we could really see what services are essential or not.

I hope LIbs tie the Mueller bill they want to fund the government on the next budget go round and just shut the whole thing down until Mueller releases his final report, hope it lasts for months. I would love to see none of Congress get paid for months. I think they should pass a bill that Congress is not owed back pay for any length of time for a government shut down. Put Congess on Obamacare and VA hospitals to save money as well. If it is good enough for civilians and vets, should be enough for them. Screw em all.

No idea what that means but that's a strong meme.
In 2013, the United States president (Cliff Robertson) is exiling all citizens who don't conform to his hyper-conservative views to Los Angeles, which became an island after a huge earthquake. But, when the president's daughter nabs the detonator to her dad's apocalyptic weapon and sneaks into L.A. to be with the rebel leader she loves, the government taps commando-turned-crook Snake Plissken (Kurt Russell) to retrieve the young woman. And, if he doesn't succeed quickly, he'll be executed.

I appreciate.that, and Adrienne even more so. I just can't figure how it's releva-- never mind. I can survive these waters.

Roadmap time.

Post topic references California = unsustainable.

Bville thought he was referencing a movie about a dystopian California of the future.

Thanks for the bounce.
