That are sure to piss off everybody in sight. That’s one of the things I most love about reading her musings.

I would pardon Assange and move on. The attention he gets only gives him validation. If you don't like him or agree with his approaches then don't pay attention to him. The government really is stupid.

I'm ok with that as well.
In the link she offers more opinions than the one about Assange. I expected outrage from people when she says the US government is the most evil, tyrannical government on the face of the planet, responsible for the murders of millions of people and the displacement of tens of millions more just this century alone. It's hard to disagree with her logic, but sure to infuriate a lot of people.

I read that. That being said it's kind of blah, blah, blah, America sucks, blah, blah, blah. I'm so used to it at this point I just ignore it and find the interesting points. Her logic is completely flawed on capitalism v communism, even her views on Assange are correct in the wrong ways. Not impressed with her, as her views on America are written by someone who does not understand global realities and has a very narrow view of the world. I'm not infuriated and it's not hard to disagree with her logic.

I think you are misreading what she says. She does not say blah, America sucks. Having read her for some time now I think she rather likes America and Americans (she’s an Aussie). She understands that the warfare/surveillance state has so thoroughly infiltrated and taken over media that we have become so manipulated we actually believe that our government is the “good guy” on the international scene. So manipulated we have been taught to ignore that our government is responsible for countless crimes against humanity, that it is responsible for the murder of millions and displacement of tens of millions. Hers is a lonely voice in the wilderness pleading with us to snap out of it. It’s a thankless task.

She is totally off base in her analysis of capitalism. When she says “capitalism depends on scarcity … capitalism needs lack” she shows a bewildering lack of economic understanding. Humanity’s survival depends on recognizing that scarcity is a fact of life, and how to allocate scarcity is the great mystery. I imagine even socialist economists would agree with that. Our friend, @07pilt could confirm or deny that supposition.

I don’t know if she considers herself to be a libertarian, I’ve never seen her make that claim. I discovered her writing as a link on a libertarian website, and much of what she says (anti-war, free Assange for example) comports with my understanding of the philosophy.

The thing I most like about her is she is unfiltered, pulls no punches, says what she means right out loud. I disagree with her often, but -glory be! -I love to read her!

I just don't get that vibe of she hopes America can pull its head out. I can list a number of things the US has done in the world stage but that doesn't necessarily make the US "evil" or a constant war criminal. I am not a big fan of cia drone strikes, never have been. Use the military they have roe, the cia doesn't care. Our interventions in Cuba were more a disaster for ourselves than the world but it was the Cubans who suffered for our failure there. She thinks the US is just willy nilly taking countries as if the military will run the country for the next 100 years. Name me one country the US has had military intervention and we are still there, in your life time. I think some may be able to get to Korea but not many. Even if you were don't forget the S Koreans like us there.

I'm just not into buyjng the whole America is the bad guy routine that everyone wants to sell these days. It lacks context and understanding of history. For the most part the US has brought more people out of poverty and given them a chance at a better life than its has subjugated. How many countries around the world can make that claim? I get it she's from Australia and has an outsiders view but it also lacks a lot of the information.

If you like reading her...great. I just wouldn't put a whole lot stock in her musings.

I was always torn on him. Broke protocol but exposed many of
The heinous crimes of the deep state.

Now that I'm older and Know what a total scumbag, corrupt, low life, child trafficking, two tiered justice system POS our mafia in DC is- I'm 100 percent behind a pardon. I'm thinking they told Trump before he left he couldn't do that one. Sad the deep state is so deep and can make those commands- it pains me to say that one.

I can appreciate your greater historical perspective but we need to start addressing our policies post WW2. Our track record is marginal at best it’s choppy, poorly thought out, and too entirely intertwined with the CIA. The moral differential between the CIA and the mofia is negligible at best.

I would agree with changing our foreign policy especially when it comes to the CIA. We need a new approach, Biden is nothing but the status quo, old, stale, over the top approach. There was a time at the height of the cold war some of what we were doing made sense, but we never changed post-cold war.
