Cabela's is kinda going crazy on expansion. After years of waiting for a store in the Denver area the Wheatridge store was cancelled two or three years ago.
Now? In August Cabela's will open TWO stores in the Denver metro - one immediately west of I-25 on the south side of town in Lone Tree and one immediately east of I-25 in Thornton just south of the E-470 interchange. Pretty sure they will open the same day.
Also pretty sure these will become the two closest Cabela's stores once they open, but that may not be accurate.

I hadn't thought of that but you may be right. SW has other stores in places where Cabelas has yet to venture but between Bass Pro and Cabelas, SW is quickly losing markets where their stores are the only horse in the race.

I realize there is a very good and obvious reason why you might know about this, however my unmatched Googling skills can not produce even a smidgen of evidence to back this up.
There's been no land purchased in their name or subsidiaries, etc., nothing in investor relations, etc. There was a press release on July 25th listing new store locations, however there was no mention of plans for an Oklahoma location.
