Brutally-accurate re Donald Trump

I never quite understood (but I don't get a lot of shit) how Trump was able to convince people that he was a swamp-drainer and a challenge to the 'deep state' and the elite. He's exactly the type that is attracted to such things and would be absorbed right into it. The guy loves power, I'm sure the established mechanisms would be appealing for him to be a part of once he was truly introduced to them.

Billy Graham couldn't 'drain the swamp' as its constructed. That said, I applaud Trump as he's brought more sunlight to the shenanigan's and incestuous life that is D.C. than any politician in my lifetime. How else would you see how interconnected supposedly separate and distinct bodies (Media, DOJ, RNC, and DNC) actually are.

You expect someone who doesn’t seek power to become president anytime soon?

No, not at all. But I think there are varying degrees of power seeking. I don't blame people in the slightest for voting for Trump, there is a reason why I voted third party (again). I just thought the drain the swamp slogan rang kind of hollow, as he, superficially, seems the like type (Born wealthy, Ivy League education, etc...) who would integrate himself into said swamp.

dude for realz???

trumps been fighting his ass off since the day he announced

endured this russia bloodless coup

on and on

there’s nothing about his presidency that’s indicated he’s been a pivot man

Neither the Democrat nor the Republican establishments in Washington, DC. want to have a wall built at our Southern border. Democrats are controlled by the likes of Soros and Republicans are controlled by the likes of the Koch brothers. The leashes they have around their necks will keep them from giving a wall to Trump via the legislative process. When masters Koch and Soros says jump and roll over an obedient dog jumps and rolls over. Trump's emergency declaration to build a wall will be shot down in the short term by the lower courts but will be upheld soon enough by the United States Supreme Court. Trump will be building mile after mile of wall going into the 2020 election.

Yes to all this — but he’s wrecked his own agenda by his terrible cabinet appointments. That’s 100% on him.

He delegated to the wrong people, starting with Reince.

Javanka is even worse. Why did he do this?

One would hope the SCOTUS would uphold Trump. However, with John Roberts Souter now the swing vote, there is no assurance he will side with Trump. Remember his Obamacare vote.

Another option discussed on TV the other night is to pass this CR which they did. Towards the end of the year another CR comes up only this time Obama's sequester rears its ugly head again. There is something like $55 billion the dems eagerly want for their favorite leeches. Trump could then play let's make a deal for more wall funding in exchange for him letting the dems have their $55 billion. Otherwise, with no additional wall funding the dems automatically lose the $55 billion through sequester.

There's obviously a concerted effort by one side to try to get him out of office. I'm not saying he's buddied up to everyone in the establishment or anything, or that the media is anywhere near neutral with him.

But, like NZ referenced up top, why is he rehashing some of the same hacks that were (I presume) the target of his ire during the campaign? Why are Bolton, Ryan and Preibus anywhere near his administration? When guys like McMaster, Mattis, Tillerson were in play, they seemed like politically honest choices, proof that he was going to 'hire the best people'. They were unconventional choices who fell out of the mainstream of political careerism (which I don't think is a word).
