Musk is correct, spending must be cut or this country is going to go bankrupt but he's also wrong. Unfortunately the political situation will not allow the cuts that are needed. Democrats will not support the slightest cut to anything and enough of the Republicans will vote against any needed cut that nothing will passed either the Senate or the House. Trump is correct in he has a small window to get some of what is needed and we must grow the economy dramatically, he's wrong for not cutting enough.
None of us want a monarchy or a single person making all the decisions in this country. Unfortunately with the divide we see in this country, getting Congress to agree on seriously needed spending cuts is impossible.
If we are to get control of spending in this country, serious and dramatic cuts must be made to Medicare, Social Security and defense spending. How do you propose Trump, Musk or anyone else for that matter get those cuts through the disfunction Congress we have? Democrats will not cut a dime and are fighting tooth and nail to keep the ridiculous and corrupt spending the DOGE committee found. Add in all the Military industrial complex reps and we get no cuts to anything. Leaving only one real option, we have to cut what we can get through Congress and grow our way out of this. With all the obstruction, growing our way out may not be possible.
You get it. Where you fail miserably? Getting through to your opponent is completely beyond your reach.
Remember when Trump was President the first time around and Congress pushed through a spending bill he said he would veto, but then TACOed out and swore he'd let them get away with it that one time but never again? Well, here we are years later and TACO Don not only isn't threatening to veto this monstrosity he's proudly called it his Big Beautiful Bill. You ask what I think he should do? I think he should grow a pair and veto the whole damned thing. You try too hard to defend him. But I get it, he's your Dear Cult Leader and cult leaders can never be wrong and never be at fault. So naturally you put all the blame on corrupt politicians while pretending he's as clean as the pure driven snow.
