Based on my not-expert-level observation, it seems like Tech and UVA’s defensive strategies are the exact opposite of what Boynton/Underwood try to do. Tech and UVA primarily try to protect the paint and prevent layups, while we extend pressure all the time, even if it means giving up a layup. I know we haven’t had the ideal length and athleticism on the roster to play the high pressure defense, but it just seems like the Tech/UVA approach is more consistently great. Wasn’t Eddie’s philosophy similar to those teams as well? And we have a Sutton on staff. Just wondering if we’ll see any changes next season...
