I don’t know what he was like in the later years of his life, but he was awful when he was head coach at OU.
I’ll never forget the 1983 bedlam game at Gallagher Hall when Matt Clark was playing with 102 fever and very weak. He shot an air ball at the free throw line, and Tubbs and the OU bench broke out LAUGHING at him. It was absolutely the lowest and classless thing I ever saw in my life.
When Eddie took over, our team was competitive, and when Eddie started beating him, he didn’t exactly take things very well. He was absolutely awful.
