We all remember that last season, BU beat TCU but lost to WVU. Both teams went 11-1 in the regular season and were named Co-Big 12 Champions because they had the same record. This move was later criticized and it was suggested that it played a role in the conference missing out on the CFP (i.e. BU would have had a better chance of being the 4th team if they had been named Big 12 Champion).
In the off-season, the Big 12 fixed this problem by announcing that they will name a champion at the end of the regular season, despite not having a championship game.
Here is my question. What would happen if the conference ends in a 3 way tie? Let's say OSU beats TCU, TCU beats BU and BU beats OSU. All 3 teams finish 11-1. Can anyone see a way that the conference doesn't finish the regular season with 3 co-champions? Does the conference have a plan in place to determine which of the teams would be champion?
