So, if I understand correctly, Trump attempts to develop property in Moscow. The deal goes south for some reason. Trump claims he has no business interest in Russia.

Where’s the lie on that? It was a bust. He has an interest in nothing. Seems technically accurate to me.

Ok. I'm not trying to convince you of anything -- his corruption is so well established and repeated at this point that that's a futile exercise imo. That said, there are so many angles to this story, I have to work, but here's the basic gist:

Donald Trump: “I have nothing to do with Russia — no deals, no loans, no nothing.”



And go check out Don Jr's congressional testimony. And the boys' pre-campaign statements that most of their funding was from Russia. Biff just had another "witch hunt!" meltdown on twitter.

I'm sure this is all nothing and Hillary will be perp walked any day now.

I'm hoping they investigate Biff and his administration and family over and over, every single day, from every angle. I want Benghazi-style hysteria with our own 7 duplicate investigations into every single scandal. I hope they gridlock and obstruct and try to defeat the Senate GOP agenda at every turn. Single payer health care, infrastructure, forcing education and child welfare on the states, and cutting defense would also be welcome, but their main role is to investigate and gridlock.

Those chickens are flying back to roost so hard right now they're blowing feathers off!

This is still much ado about nothing. And absolutely zero about why I thought we needed a special investigation led by Mueller .. which is Russian election meddling.

The meeting Cohen is saying he lied about was not about any election issue. And we already know about this meeting.

Seems to me Mueller needs to $hit or get off the pot. I realize this is red meat for MSM and low-intelligence left voters, but do we really need an investigator gathering guilty pleas about nothing?
 
Ya'll may recall the board's obsession with The Steele Dossier. The right wing media went crazy trying to disprove it. One of the 195 angles to this is.... it is yet another point from that dossier that has proven to be nails.

 
I highly doubt any projects ever built, by anyone, with the complexity that Donald Trump deals with were ever built “ squeaky clean”

I recall Junior saying that they had Russian financing of some sort. Was that a credit line for this development that never happened? Speculation on my part, but it’s just as valid as what I’m seeing from the left so far.

I understand your zeal in connecting Trump to Russia Russia Russia collusion because that’s been the leftist suspicion for a long time. But man, this is the place where you’re going to plant your flag and make a stand? I’ll get more excited about this if actual evidence of criminal activity emerges. Right now, it bores me.

Wrong. The “right wing media” mostly went crazy over the failure to disclose that the Steele Dossier was, in FACT, paid for by the Clinton campaign. Also, that Comey, et al then tried to downplay its importance in obtaining a FISA warrant. And, finally, that Steele himself was quite cozy with a number of Russians.

Like I said, I'm nto trying to convince anyone of anything. It looks awful bad to me, but we'll see. If I were "taking a stand" I'd say that stand was taken with the Manafort convictions and I'm in the ol' 19th hole with a cold beer by now, if you'll allow me to mix the metaphors. There's already been more than enough to marginalize Biff as a corrupt criminal and incompetent to an objective person.

Wrong. The "failure to disclose" issue was relatively late, after the House intel committee was way down the road, and it was also untrue, as it was disclosed in black and white -- as if any court would ignore information because it came from an adversary. It was a stupid talking point and demonstrably false.

I was on here for months asking why it was such a huge deal. The board thought that if it was discredited, somehow that would discredit the FISA warrants, which would discredit the Mueller investigation. They got that from right wing media and it wasn't true, but I could never penetrate the messaging. I posted a list of the stuff in the dossier that was true, too.

And OF COURSE the author or some contributor was "quite cozy" with Russians. If you want to get confidential information from Russians you send in someone that Russians will communicate with. It's amazing that such a dumb talking point could get any traction. I'm not sure it did, in fact. This is the first time I've heard that one.

A shit ton of it was discredited AND they failed to corroborate any/most of it beforehand even if some of it turned out to be correct or at least plausible.

If I had to make an uninformed guess, money laundering or bribery. He's so off the charts greedy that anything's possible.

His old tax lawyer got raided today by the federal BI in Chicago. May have nothing to do with Biff, though.

That’s far short of establishing him as a corrupt criminal. Maybe at some point, you will be proven correct on your hunches. Who knows. Hadnt heard about the tax lawyer thing yet. We’ll see.

I can not think of a more fruitless endeavor. His dishonesty and all the attempts to cover up scrutiny are well documented in the public sphere.

I don’t know about you, but by the time years 6-8 of the Obama administration rolled around, I could no longer stand to hear Barack any longer. I was just so burned out on that guy.

I think Sys is to that point already with Trump and we aren’t 2 years in yet.

He's not charged with lying and not being forthcoming. Context us evwrything.

I don't know federal criminal law. I don't know what he did. I don't know what Mueller has. I know he's corrupt, a compulsibe pathological liar, cartoonishly greedy, and doesnt really understand consequence. And he's not that smart. He just inherited well. Those fundamentals ultimately prevail.

It's a good thing someone is actually investigating this stuff, no?

I wonder if Mueller would have tolerated destruction of evidence after a subpoena, given immunity to Cohen, Manafort, Papadopoulos, etc in exchange for nothing, looked the other way about evidence on a pedophile's laptop, applied "intent" when the statute doesn't require it, allowed a major Trump ally to lead the investigation, allowed Cohen to represent Trump as counsel in Trump's interview after granting Cohen immunity, allowed one of his investigators to close the case on his/her own, secretly met with Trump's wife to discuss grandchildren and what not a week before one of his investigators announced nothing prosecutable, destroyed evidence on Trump's behalf, refused to use any conventional investigative resources at his disposal like grand juries, warrants, etc, and looked the other way while pro Trump lovers and the pro Trump lead investigator had meetings where they discussed an "insurance policy" during the investigation.

That's all hypothetical of course. I'm certain that unethical, corrupt, and incompetent shit like that has never happened in the Justice Department.
