I'm surprised he's not bringing up the old "I have asthma" to avoid going to Vietnam, like he did to avoid the draft.

Many of the Vietnamese that were told they would be evacuated from the embassy were left to be slaughtered by the Viet Cong. This change in orders was led by a junior senator from Delaware who squashed the evac plans.
