Best Way to Stay Healthy?

I am 6’-2” and I weighed 222 pounds at my peak. I decided to try keto and now weigh 184 pounds. I eat lots of eggs, bacon, butter and meat. I’ve never been healthier and my blood results agree. Carbohydrates are America’s biggest killer.

Sounds familiar, I was 6 feet, 200 lbs.
Now 170. Wearing britches that were impossible to get on.
I've got a bunch of FAT pants I'll donate to goodwill soon.

Exercise a bunch (as much as you can orthopedically handle). Do weight training and high-intensity cardio. Not exercising is worse than smoking. The data is clear. There is no upper limit to the benefits of exercise. The more the better.

Eat a clean diet rich in fruits and veggies with lots of water. Red meat in moderation. Avoid processed sugar and processed foods. Alcohol in moderation.

The exercise part is more important than the diet part.

I've lost a bunch of weight doing Atkins which is the precursor to Keto. I've recently started Keto (as it allows a wider variety of foods) to weigh less when my knee/s get replaced. The hard part of either of these low carb diets is not going back to your previous eating habits after losing the weight. The body has a weight it gets comfortable with and will seek to reestablish that weight after dieting. It takes a long time to retrain it to be comfortable at a lower weight.

Re: Cholesterol. I doubt my grandmother ever had her cholesterol checked and she lived to be 100 eating anything she wanted.

I've found that you can eat anything you want, just in moderation. Learn to push the plate away.
I also ascribe to the theory that fasting every now and again is good for your immune system. It tricks your body into assuming something is amiss, and fortifies itself against all the nasties, airborne or otherwise.
