The poster known as "longrangebunnykiller." Truth be told, I already hated him a little for his awesome username. He's been blogging for the site a little bit, but never knew of the OSB. Sent me pics from the elk hunt he just returned from. Two 6x6's for him and his brother. Good job fellas.

Not a very nice question to ask - but since you did, I'll do my best to give you the VISA commercial breakdown:

License: $125 (used to be $75!!)
Gas: $50 (little over an hour from the house + some dirt road driving)
Food for 4: $250-ish
Memories: Being mere yards away from elk on multiple occasions and guiding a second successful hunt in as many years...priceless!

post scriptum, I've got $150 budgeted for meat processing - as I am not set up to do my own - but I have yet to get the receipt for that.

post post scriptum, FWIW, one of the bulls was shot 150 yards from the fence separating the forest from private land. :)

Thanks cowpoke74! We saw more elk this year and it helped that they were bugling some. Had some other hunters shoot an even nicer one out from under us as we were making a stalk.

You bring those quarters to my house and we'll do it for nothing...other than some burger and butterflied t-loin. :) My house is certainly more than an hour from wherever those hosses were taken...but I have BPS, APR and GIA less than 5 minutes from mine.

Incredible. My apologies as I was not wanting to come off rude. Just figured 2 bulls like that would have been outfitted and had trophy fees added on!!!

Sincere congrats.

@Daily1up - No worries at all. Thanks for the kind words! Looking forward to reading a bit more about everyone's season. Glad Jeff told me about this board :)

I went hunting with this guide (http://www.trophyoutfitters.com/index.php?phone=off ) once in Mexico (http://www.trophyoutfitters.com/view.php?area=TROPHY%20MULE%20DEER&id=59#a ) and I know he has some good elk and (great) antelope country in NM. My brother shot a book antelope with him and his elk pics for this year looked good. I don't know how pleased you are with your current outfitter, but I would certainly recommend Van for both elk and antelope.
