This isn't the first time that a Baylor Football Player has been accused of sexual assault by a female Baylor Athlete.
In 2012, Baylor Linebacker Tevin Elliot was accused of rape and after an investigation was arrested by Waco Police and charged with Sexual Assault. Briles notified the press that Elliot had been suspended for "violation of team rules" but NEVER informed the public that his player had been arrested for raping a Baylor coed. The guy was found guilty in a trial where 4 other women testified that he had also raped them.
We already know the details now of what happened with Ukwuachu so no need to rehash those details.
But here's where the story turns quite a bit larger, and implicates nearly all of the Administration of that Univ, from Pres Starr on down, including the AD in particular.
Both of the women who went to the police, reported the crimes and testified against the two Baylor rapists, subsequently had their athletic scholarships withdrawn or reduced!!!!!! The mother of the first victim gave an interview where she told of the university offering her daughter little or no support during that time and ended up yanking her scholly.
So the AD (who HAD TO KNOW) that two football players had been charged with RAPE stood by and let the Head Coach (and his Coaching staff) engage in a complete and utter cover-up by telling the press/public that these players had only been suspended for a "violation of a team rule" without ever disclosing the very serious nature of the underlying REAL REASONS!
Sorry, this is sounding like a hush-job and cover-up, maybe not quite on the level of ped state proportions, but certainly bad enough to warrant a look by the NCAA and those in the Govt who oversee Title 9 issues. The school claimed that they had conducted a thorough Title 9 investigation in light of the accusations against Ukwuachu, but the judge in the criminal case found it so lacking in merit that he refused to allow the Defense Attorney to even reference it during the trial.
This is no longer just about Briles - it's about this whole damned university and how they seemed not to have learned a single lesson from their Basketball program fiasco.
