Harris was the most dominant wrestler on Team USA....
Not only did he win gold in both styles; I am pretty sure he never went behind the first period in any of his five matches and spent less than 6:00 total between the two styles.

I don't think The best wrestlers really try for Pan Ams. It's against countries that aren't very good at wrestling.
I think USA Wrestling determines the team based mostly on results from Junior Nationals / Junior WTT. A lot of these guys finished runner up for a World Team spot, including Austin who took 2nd in Greco at the Trials.
He's definitely improved a lot in the past year. Went from taking 8th at 182 in Fargo last July to winning double gold at 213 against foreigners this summer. And really in pretty dominating fashion - that ain't too shabby for a guy that wasn't even weight class ranked in HS. I think he will be a solid backup at 197 this year. But next year, does he challenge Dakota Geer for the 197 spot or bump up to 285 and challenge Cornelius Putnam (the only projected heavy on the roster)?
